"There Will Be No Third Debate!": Donald Trump Rules Out New Face-Off with Kamala Harris

EFE.-Former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will not participate in another electoral debate against his rival, Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

"There will be no third debate!" he wrote in all caps on Truth Social.

Trump participated in a first debate against U.S. President Joe Biden in June, which led the sitting president to end his reelection campaign after a disastrous performance. The second debate took place this Tuesday, where analysts and TV commentators declared Harris the winner.

The Democratic campaign had requested a third debate following this week's encounter in Philadelphia, but Trump had already downplayed the possibility of another face-off before the November 5 elections.

On Wednesday, during a memorial event for the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Trump mentioned that he needed to consider whether another debate was necessary, as he believed he had already won against Harris and had a "great night."

In justifying his decision on Thursday not to participate in another debate, Trump stated on Truth Social that "the polls clearly show" he won the verbal duel, adding: "Kamala should focus on what she should have been doing for almost the last four years."

"When a boxer loses a fight, the first thing they say is 'I want a rematch,'" Trump said, arguing that since he hasn't lost, there's no need for another debate.

Thus, Tuesday's debate between Trump and Harris, which drew more than 67 million viewers, will be the only televised face-off between the candidates before the elections and the only opportunity for voters to directly compare their proposals.
