Trump thanks Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for support after dropping out of presidential race: 'It's a very nice thing he did'

Former US President and Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trump, thanked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Friday for the electoral support he gave him after suspending his presidential campaign minutes earlier.

"I want to thank Bobby. It's a very nice thing he did and it's really important. He's a great guy, respected by everyone," Trump said at a campaign event in Las Vegas (Nevada, United States).

The former president, who tonight has another campaign event in neighboring Arizona, announced that he will talk more about that support from Kennedy Jr., who had led an independent candidacy, during that event.

"I'm going to talk about that. We're leaving right after this. We're going to go to Arizona. We'll talk about that and a lot of other things as well," Trump said.

Coincidentally, Kennedy Jr. is precisely in Arizona, where he made his announcement of suspending his campaign and supporting Trump, so it would not be strange if he participated in the Republican event tonight.

After those comments, Trump dedicated his speech to the main issue that had brought him to Las Vegas: his proposal to eliminate tip taxes.

"If you're a restaurant worker, waiter, hotel employee, cadi, barber, moving company, driver, or anyone else who depends on tips, when I win this November, we're going to let you keep 100% of your tips," Trump said.

On stage, the campaign had installed messages in English and Spanish, addressing the 20% of Latinos who make up the electorate of Nevada, key when it comes to deciding the result in this crucial state.

Trump took advantage of the stage to criticize the fact that the campaign of the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, has adopted the same proposal to eliminate tip taxes.

"Kamala Harris is now pretending to support my proposal, but in reality, Kamala cast the deciding vote (in the Senate) to hire 87,000 new IRS agents who will go after your tip income," he said.
