Nikki Haley announces that she will vote for Trump in the presidential election and calls on him to win over voters who supported her during the primaries

Nikki Haley said this Wednesday that she will vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming November elections, and encouraged the virtual Republican presidential candidate to work hard to gain the support of those who supported her in the primary election.

“I will vote for Trump,” Haley, the former US ambassador to the UN, said at an event at the Hudson Institute in Washington.

But Haley also made clear that she thinks Trump must work to win over voters who supported her during the primary campaign and who voted for her in subsequent primaries.

“That being said, I stand by what I said in my withdrawal speech,” Haley added. “Trump will do well to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they will simply go with him. And I genuinely hope he does.”

Haley abandoned her bid for the Republican nomination two months ago, but she was slow to show her support for Trump. Both criticized each other severely during the primary election.

Last week, Trump said that he does not consider Haley as a possible vice presidential candidate.

“Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the position of V.P., but I wish her the best,” Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social, responding to speculation that his campaign was considering including the former United States ambassador as number two. at the UN during his mandate.

Trump said in late March that he has a list of 15 possible running mates if he wins the election, and among them is Cuban-born Republican Senator Marco Rubio, according to NBC.

Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, would be the first Latino man on a Republican presidential ticket.
