Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith mourns death of friend Larry Allen

 
The NFL is in mourning after the tragic death of former offensive lineman Larry David was announced suddenly while he was on vacation with his family in Mexico at the age of 52, being a Hall of Famer and part of the last Dallas Cowboys dynasty.

This is undoubtedly a great loss for the entire NFL community, with Allen being a legend, as well as his teammates during his time as a player.

One of those who reacted to his death with quite a lot of feeling and the death of his friend was running back Emmitt Smith, who in a video on Instagram spoke about David and was seen quite moved and on the verge of tears.

Who was Larry Allen?

Allen was a second-round pick out of Sonoma State in the 1994 NFL Draft, and quickly became one of the most dominant offensive linemen in NFL history.

He was named to the Pro Bowl 11 times and was inducted into the Canton, Ohio, Hall of Fame in the class of 2013.

He played for the Cowboys from 1994 to 2005, winning Super Bowl XXX against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent his last two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
