Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed gratitude for the recent passage of a major military aid package by the US House of Representatives.
This measure, which amounts to a total of USD 13 billion, reinforces the United States' historic support for Israel in its fight against the Hamas terrorist group.
Netanyahu highlighted the significant majority with which the bipartisan bill was approved in the US Congress, interpreting it as a solid support for the relationship between both countries and as a defense of what he called “Western civilization.”
This gesture, according to him, sends a loud and clear message to Israel's enemies.
Gratitude and future hopes
Israel's Foreign Minister, Yisrael Katz, also joined in the thanks, highlighting the strategic importance of the alliance between Israel and the United States.
Katz expressed hope that the Senate will quickly pass the bill with broad bipartisan support.
Aid package details
The aid package authorized by the lower house of the United States Congress includes funds intended to strengthen Israel's anti-missile defense system, known as the “Iron Dome.”
Additionally, more than $9 billion will be allocated to meet urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and other vulnerable regions of the world.
